When mentioning the usual standards of the furniture industry, the reference is always to PVC ABS edgebands sample book.<\/a> but if we focus specifically on ABS Edge banding, it shows some special characteristics that differentiate it from PVC edge banding.<\/a><\/p>

Both options are based on impact-resistant thermoplastic materials. Specifically, in the case of ABS upholstery, this material is acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), a very stable and resistant option, especially suitable for office furniture and for spaces with intensive use and heavy traffic.<\/p>

These qualities mean that, once in the hands of furniture manufacturers, the process of veneering with ABS Edge banding is quicker. It is also a more sustainable option as no hydrochloric acid is emitted during the manufacturing process. However, it is slightly more expensive than PVC laminate.<\/p>
