If the furniture industry stands out for something, with which we have been collaborating for more than 25 years, it is because of its ability to adapt. Each season they listen to their customers, probe the trends and needs of the market and launch collections that will eventually equip homes, establishments, hotels, schools and companies, among other types of spaces. Due to their innovative capacity, they constantly require different melamine furniture edges for their pieces.
Companies in the furniture sector evolve and we go with them, designing and manufacturing the solutions they require at all times and for each collection.
Sizes
As for measurements, the most common widths are 19, 22 and 33 millimeters. A width of 19 millimeters is the usual edge for melamine furniture used in kitchen interiors, bedside tables, chests of drawers and shelves, to name a few; for its part, the 33-millimeter one is generally used for doors.
In our daily work, however, the edgeband PVC ABS that we most often manufacture at our industrial facilities in Castalla (Alicante) is 22 millimeters wide. This is the one used in more robust furniture such as tables and front doors of cabinets.
Thicknesses
Regarding thicknesses, our advanced plastic extrusion systems allow us to be very versatile. The 0.4 millimeters is the minimum thickness with which we work, creating a very subtle edging, almost imperceptible, which is used in small furniture.
We could say that 0.8 millimeters is the standard thickness, which provides an appearance of robustness and quality. However, it has the necessary fineness so that the base of the edge is not visible to the eye.
Likewise, we produce edges for melamine furniture of 1, 2 and 3 millimeters, depending on the indications of the current legislation for spaces such as offices and children's schools. These are more robust options against possible blows, scratches and wear derived from constant use and the passage of time.
